A Distant Love Affair

As dusk came quickly
Fast as a dove
Escaping to Swift Creek
Seeking moments to splurge
There was the photographer
Sitting quietly on the hill
Taking twilight pictures
Of the water running swift
Then he saw me
I saw him
Our eyes focused intently
Our love truly began
He had watched me
From a very distant place
He knew from the first moment
He had to see my face
Then the cry of the bobcats
Piercing the air
Gave me a terrible scare
Why did they have to be there
