A Dispatch To Bus Drivers

All drivers of buses, you must be aware of bicyclists who sometimes speed past so quickly you don’t even know they are there. Whatever you do, you must not drive fast. Pedestrians sometimes come onto the street when they ought not. It could mean tragedy. Be careful so that your bus does not meet with the body of someone you just didn’t see. Have vigilance always, not just for each child for whom you are driving, but for everyone you meet on your route. This warning’s not mild! Regard each soul as your own daughter or son.

No, offense not choosing this one for a winner, it was good BUT I wanted 6 lines or less. When our dispatch reads the daily safety message its really short. Anyways good job on getting a longer version of a safety message out.

Meaningful messages. State laws try to minimize accidents with the buses, Each child in bus is precious apple of eye.

Hello Andrea. Yes this is an important message. There are times I shake my head when I'm on the road in back or near any bus driver and think to myself "and you're a driver...". It is a problem Andrea, here in the U K Because of government advice and pro Bus adverts in the 80s/90s some drivers Must feel they can pull out whatevers Happening.? I have been a quarter along The side, and driving moderatley and have Been abused by a driver..Then motorcyclists Who overtake suddenly with generally to Light indicaton before.' Saying that i have Made errors but not habitually and there Were no accidents (thank God)

In San Francisco, I rode buses, not owning a car, back then, I saw pedestrians, bicycles and people walk right in front of moving buses, I would lecture people first. And they have to put up with drunks and rude people. Drivers of cars are far worse. They kill more people than bus drivers ever will. That’s my experience, Andrea, include all those non-bus drivers who drive drunk or play on the internet while driving or cell phones!terrible. Pangie

Tom,in the USA, each state has its own laws, all drivers here are trained, none are evil beings. I hold to what I sUs ro Andrea, you can spend times looking up stayatiseivs on accidents but that would be a waste of to time.I never said the GOV should interfere.. we have none here,all drivers go through courses to get a license, that does not mean some don’t break rules..do you realize how large thr USA is? Great idea for a town of 10, p00. Lol. Pangie

True enough Pangie yet I think campaigns by goverment are a mistake it Should be a driving course Speciality 'bus motorcycles trucks cyclists and car drivers Should be made aware of each other.' Maybe a one day Addendum to a test would be a Positive thing.?

Ah, well I remember my public transportation days. Actually, Andrea, I think bus drivers are far more vigilant than most private auto drivers. At least, I hope so...An excellent reminder, Andrea.
