A Different Dream

Tell me, O Priestess, your prophesies -
The things that are to be.
The wars, the death and the disease
Tell all of it to me.

The wisdom of the sages -
Their words crash against my ears
A cacophony of Ages -
Patriarchal all these years.

Throw me, O Priestess, your pearls -
The rays of light that yet may gleam -
The life those rays will then unfurl;
Take me to different dream.

It is kind of deep, you are right...I meant it to be a little cryptic, like in Imagist poetry, but put simply means I can see all the evil in this world and unnecessary suffering and want to see an end to it. I want to see a better world than we have now. I'm personally tired of the Patriarchal attitudes in governments, religions, and in people. Take me to a different dream means - show me a better world or place; like "beam me up Scotty" I'm done here. But that is Idealism I guess...that's the fun of poetry, I can dream of ideal situations if I cannot live them right now.
