A December Memento

A surprise snow coaxed night to rare twilight snowflakes found leaves in quiet midnight air I will forever remember this sight: fallen snow--a gentle Christmas prayer-- and a hush almost too lovely to bear. It was just that, and over 20 yrs ago. I think of it often when meditating. Thanks for your comments!

Thank you, Linda. I let my dog out at 2 am, and there was this incredible, unexpected scene, the beauty and quiet overwhelmed me. It was over 20 yrs ago.

Hi Anne, This is such a lovely write. "to paint a water color unrehearsed of fallen snow" absolutely beautiful imagery. F.y.i. I also saw your recent note to Rico who is m.i.a. I started thinking he is probably out there photographing the volcano possibly?

Nancy, I'm worried about him, too. I'm not sure if he lives on the big island...we can't help but worry when someone so prolific doesn't write. Thank you so much for writing a comment about my poem. :) Merry Christmas!
