A Day At the Beach
the ecstasy of toes waifing the imaginary winds lapping waves I am in heaven
drowning or flying who knows
the dreams the real and then the drill
a hole in the frozen ground telling nothing
but a little girl with wings to protect the sand castle
with a bathing suit full of anchovies as the tunas chased them to the shore
weirding the silver sea i looked at the dolphins and jump the last surf to rub their fins
fighting the rip tide to come ashore and the last wave swallowing the moat of protection from a day of fun and survival.
