A Dance of Chance

A Dance of Chance
Why must I wear,
My broken heart, on my sleeve,
When everyone I need abandons me,
Why must I watch,
Them depart taking,
A peice of my heart,
I have loved so hard,
I can barely breathe,
You blew into my life,
Like a summer storm,
When I was most in need,
You took me by the hand,
And let me lead,
We danced a dance,
Of eternal romance and need,
Under the stars and the moonlight,
It was a dance,
Like a game of Chance,
I closed my eyes,
And to my delightful surprise,
You were still by my side,
And now I can breathe my dear,
I'll never have to watch you leave.

Thank you for that I appreciate it, Yes I think it has great music to it too, probably why they are putting it to music as a song, after all poetry is music!

Oh, thank you, Stormy, for the hopeful and happy ending. Maybe sometimes, I'm too dark.

Love that dividing line that wraps up all the bad and turns it all to the good. It's a very clever write!
