A Cup of Rain

I put my hands together
And make for me a cup,
And when it's cloudy weather
I go to fill it up.

"Oh big big clouds,
Won't you fill it for me?
I love to drink raindrops
And they love to kiss me."

And sometimes they hear me,
And sometimes they don't,
And once they were near me,
But growled out, 'We won't'.

But if my cup is empty,
And nothing they will give,
I still will love raindrops
As long as I live.
