A Conversation

This is me having conversation with the younger me.

Me- Hi how are you?
Younger me- I'm not doing so well.
Me- What's the matter sweetie?
Younger me- I don't know why he chose
to do bad things to me. I must have enticed him or flirted with him.
Me-Let me tell you something sweetie. You did nothing wrong. You are a young child trying to make sense of the world. Do you understand?
Younger me- I felt so dirty and nasty. I'm so confused. If this is love I don't want it
at all.
Me- Baby this is not love at all. One day when you are older you will exprience real
love. Your life will not be easy but promise me, that you will always be your own cheerleader.
Young me- What do you mean?
Me- Always think good about yourself even when you are sad.
Young me- Ok
Me- One more thing
Younger me- Yes
Me-Don't let that man touch you again. Scream and shout. Raise your voice and
tell someone. When you tell you take away
his power.
Younger me- Okay I won't
Me- Promise
Younger me- I promise
Me- Thank you so much
Younger me- Why do you care so much?
Me- Because we are one and the same.
Younger me- Hunh?
Me- I am you
Younger me - This is weird but I knew you
were me
Me- How?
Younger me- It was like looking in to the mirror. The face is still the same
Me- Bye baby I think you will be fine
Younger me- Bye

This is a dynamic, truth revealing poem, Alexis. Very creative dialog device. As EWF (Earth, Wind & Fire) said ... talking to yourself is fine, if it makes you feel much better ... Beautiful truth expressed in this artfully written piece. Love it though. Love and peace to you.

A heartbreaking conversation with your younger self Alexis - I dread to think of what conversation I would write about - we all have events in life we would rather have not happened:-( hugs Jan xx

I find your choice of 'conversation' creative and meaningful, Alexis. No good will come by brooding on the past, but it is useful to learn from it. ~ Best regards // paul

What a dramatic conversation and situation. We all fantasize (or is it just you and me) of going back in time to assist / save our younger version. It is deep, Alexis - thus an emotional tugger, sad and heart wrenching ... some people need killing ... I didn't say that ... CayCay

Hi CayCay, It's so good to see you. I've often thought about what kind of conversation I would have with my younger self, and this is where my muse led me. Thank you so much for the positive feedback. As for as the "predator " goes don't get me started. I appreciate that you stopped by today:-) Alexis
