A Color Extravaganza

October is a pageant of color,
celebrating the bounty of summer.
And Jack Frost, Autumn's gentlemen caller,
oft dances to a different drummer;
endorsing Winter as the newcomer.
Nature's phantasmagorical season;
Fall is a color extravaganza.
And that, above all else, is the reason
I find it's a bonafide bonanza
of beauty, like a poetic stanza.
Trees flame scarlet and cerise overnight;
as the fairies set canopies afire.
And though fledgling songbirds have taken flight,
there is still so much beauty to admire;
for Autumn never ceases to inspire.
The air gets chilly; each breath crisp and clean,
and underfoot, leaves make a crackling sound.
Crimson and orange leaves ink Summer's green;
forming mosaics as they're blown around
by brisk breezes and scattered on the ground.
