A Cold December

I’m searching for my passion
It couldn’t have gone too far
Without it, I must ration
And that is just bizarre

I find myself on edge
Chattering my teeth
Tempting the ledge
Of the working class beneath

If I cannot find it soon
I know, not, how I’ll deal
Balancing a spoon
Spinning about my wheel

The strangest part of all
Is my intense desperation
Despite the translucent wall
Which led to isolation

A microscopic ember
Preserved a tiny bit of heat
To burn through my December
And cause my heart to beat
