A Chance To Unite

to appreciate another nations anthem to applaud on cue time spent beneath searing sun where might mingles blood and sweat of woman's football in France upon the world stage a joy to behold from four corners of the globe art and skill cement their goal. © Harry J Horsman 2019

Hi Harry, My son from a toddler, always loved Leeds United and when they came to South Africa, we went to the airport -he got signatures on his football from the whole team - the captain then was Gary McAllistair and I still have the photograph of him with Ricky, but must admit don't know too much more - however your poems together with your so apt and vivid imagination is always such a pleasure and joy to read and I agree , hearing anthems moves me as crowds join in. Hugs and blessings Jen.

You chose a great way to write of this topic , in a way that it's not necessary to even know much about it. I wish I had been so clever. I still want to do a poem for this contest but I am not so imaginative!!!

I'm so ignorant about Fifa Cup that I assumed it was golf and now I learn it is football which could mean it is soccer and my ignorance but grows, or does it? Isn't to know that I know I do know the beginning of true wisdom? Women have so many sensitive places that I hope it is soccer. I love the feel of goodwill as you joyously expressed it, knowledgeably, too! All the best ... CayCay

Some of these girls play better than the men and certainly less drama. Well written Harry . Good luck. Tom
