A Cat Nursery Rhyme
Lay down your head and I will tell you about a cat,
all furry white with orange eyes, oh, he is so fat !
He has a friend called Rex with fur lovely and wavy,
he looks different for sure with whiskers all curly !
They have a friend called Tabby with cream fur like silk,
her fur has dark brown places and she loves to drink milk !
Then, there is Manx, who lost his tail and now hops,
he is very smart and the other cats think he is tops !
Calico, white with brown, black and orange patches,
loves her kittens and brings home mouse catches !
Blue comes from England and looks like a stuffed toy,
he has green eyes and is a very smart, quiet boy !
Then, there is Willy and Milly of questionable breed,
came on the Mayflower and multiplied with speed !
Now, this gang of cats live together in a huge house,
and when all are asleep they go looking for a mouse !
During the day they are beautiful and loving pets,
so sweet and purring but at night they have assets !
Like seeing in the dark and a nose for night sneaking,
if you wake up at night you may hear them shrieking;
do not be afraid for this is the cat way of loudly speaking !
