A Carousel Dream

Drawn in was I by a loud cheery sound.
Calliope! I rushed straight to the place
where beautiful creatures moved round and round
in quite a wondrous and magical chase.
Colorful horses were in their own pose.
Prancing were they, so I ran fast alongside
a white, pretty horse – the one that I chose
for my most marvelous carousel ride.
Up and down, round and round, and then it seemed
after what must have been hours had gone by,
the horses – like no other ride I'd dreamed -
left the ground and circled up to the sky!
