A Cancer Quietus - Contest

I lie here still and cold.
My eyes grey and fathomless,
My cancer- stricken body.
Awaiting the quietus of my final nap.

A sleep that will last an eternity,
Filled with a tiresome, repetitious rhapsody.
My story forever untold,
The delinquency of my fable

Thank you, Mockingbird, for the invitation to join your journey.. Your poem is so smooth, emotional and intimate that I didn't even realize that there was a required word list, for the contest, till I saw it earlier. This 'WOWS' me even more! :)

A somber poem that explains the stark, gray, tiresomeness of a dreaded disease. The first two lines were so written that I was surprised to find any life left in line 3. Too telling, but genuine and pure. I applaud this poem.

Deep and emotive, as a cancer survivor, I can relate to the state of not being able to do anything.. I know so many who lost the fight though, makes me very sad...
