Confined within the rusty iron bars to hop and trip Wishing to fly aloft into Heaven's seamless starry heights A bird beats her wings in vain but trilling in sweet sad notes!

Oh my, this is a marvelous sijo dear poetess, I absolutely adore the theme that you've chosen and expressed the feelings of that bird who's caged behind bars and wishes to escape into the serenity of heaven... Singing in a wishful way that someday she will be able to touch the winds of eden.. Although, there's a sombre essence in her voice..This is one the most impeccable sijo poems I've read.. It's sad and heartfelt too, yet, hued with a slight ray of hope somewhere between the lines..Beautiful

This is a heartbreaking, poem, Valsa; no bird has any business being confined to a cage. Nevertheless, it was quite inspiring to see her persevere and keep singing and beating her wings. I hope you're doing well and all the awkwardness is behind you.

This is a really sad one, no bird deserves to be in a cage.. I wrote one for this contest in a similar theme.. All the best..

I felt twinges of sadness as I read your Sijo...'rusty iron bars' indicated how long the lovely bird had been barred in a cage....yet how inspirational she was continuing to beat her wings and sing. Just a lovely poem that tells me of your wonderful spirit. enjoy your day, hugs, Sara

I dunno why i felt sad reading this sijo dear valsa, i felt the depth of this one. And i think in so many ways many do feel this way emotionally and physically caged in their circumstances. Wishing and hoping they could fly away. I love always a caged bird poem. And i cant but admire, i can heat those tones sad and sweet too through your words. Pleasure always reading your work: best wishes for the contest
