A Broken Heart

A BROKEN HEART How many people die a day, and And how many loved ones mourn, How many lives change in a day, And how many hearts are torn! My heart was torn, My life turned inside out, I watched the man I loved, Fight, His cancer, With all his might, But he died and I cried! A tall, proud, handsome man, Brought to rest, At his best! I miss you dad , And I feel sad, But one day we will meet, In the hallways of the sky, Then we’ll no longer need To cry, For in these many passages high Above in the sky, With an over whelming joy, We will also see Alan your Grandson, and my baby boy!

Jennifer, I love the way you have converted you pain and grief into a shareable commodity that can be appreciated with kindred spirits who have undergone their own tragedies. It is so powerful to connect at this soulful level.

Hi Line, Live is a risk and living is akin to a war zone, especially on the highway and then being somewhere when suddenly a person goes crazy and shoots everyone in sight in a mall or school, restaurant or concert. Tragedies happen to people everyday - look at what we are going through now. It was hard losing my fist-born and it was hard losing both parents at home as they stayed with us. Blessings, Jennifer. Jennifer.

Oh, honey - how I relate to the feel that slow leaps to ache my own Daddy spot. Talking about our poems that are bio's, please read my "My Father, My Dad" which like you, I wrote when he made his transition. This is touching, this a little girl and Daddy, no matter our age or his, no matter living and dead. I'm teary eyed. check soupmail Love ... CayCay

Yet again I am very pleased to have found such deep, beautiful verses expressing love of a beloved dad now departed. An inspiration set to remind us, live is a brief span on this blue marble, so we had best make the most of it.. A fav my friend,

Hi Robert, Again your words are so profound. My dad died of cancer at 64 and with immense pain. My love for my father although always there, was so intense when he was dying. He died in my arms whilst I sobbed my heart out! Thank you Robert, Best wishes, Jennifer

Sad but beautiful, a broken heart is not easy to mend. But we go on, knowing those we love are always with us.

Such a beautiful penned piece Jennifer, lovely imagery and nice rhyme. I feel with you having prostate cancer myself for past 18 months though winning it but not out of woods yet. May you know peace in these days, Gordon
