A Brave New World
A Brave New World
I am standing here looking back; the jewel that shines is the Earth
I know God promised a new world one day for those that are of worth
I wonder how I managed to be worthy of such a prize
My life has not been perfect, I have even told some lies.
I always tried to do good, I never tried to cheat
And now I am standing looking back thinking - this really is neat
Looking around; am I alone; where are all the meek?
I know I can’t be the only one saved, but perhaps this is my week.
I turned the other cheek before, but I have sworn with the best
I have flirted with many a man but never done the rest
Will this new earth be all that’s promised in the Holy Book?
I know I know the scripture but perhaps another look.
I have realised from reading the scripture a new
He isn’t going to make another planet, just the old one he will renew
The bad will be gone the meek inherit the earth
I wonder how I got here, is it like a new rebirth?
I check the words I am reading and God says this prize could be mine
I don’t have to be perfect just keep trying all the time
My brave new world I am looking on; the jewel in the sky
Is my hope of a good life on earth and I don’t want it to pass me by.
