A Bitter Pill

Visual air fading Into night,
Eyes becoming shunted with
the bending of the light
My sound becomes an echo,
My soul becomes a mirror,
Me becoming you,
To nearer be.
Not grasping, but releasing,
Not gasping, almost breathing
Forsaking all the world for your touch.
I cannot make myself so small
To disappear yet still exist,
The finest line between
My shadow and your mist.
Summoned by your gaze,
My eyes see only everything,
My lips un-parted speak in kisses
Deep enough to fill the oceans of this world
And all the worlds that there could ever be.
Your lips are mine, your heart becoming me.
I disappear in you.
Emerging into life anew,
Unchanged but uncontaminated.
Shameless shamen
Dancing to the beat of Heaven’s fire.
The whispered sound
Of backgrounds visual life
Whose touch so piercing soft
That I am left amazed and dazed
Deep depressed beneath the edge
Of wisdom’s knowing knife.
And I bleed out and disappear in you.
So willingly would I become
That which you create
Forsaking life for truth
Forsaking life for beauty
Forsaking all for this.
This mad, sad, cryptic moment
Touched by many
Missed by plenty
Now the bell
So freely tolls
As time renews its moment
And I must take such bitter pill,
My leave.
