A Better Place
Well, sometimes in our life
We take it on the chin.
Just make the best of it
And leave the rest behind.
Other times we crash and burn
But we live and learn.
Suffer through that pain
Damn right, it hurts it hurts.
I can't thrive in the dark
Or survive in your gray.
Nor act any of these parts
You've asked me to portray.
Now with a broken heart
As My tears cascade.
I saw her last night
She's with that new guy.
I had nothing to say
It doesn't seem right.
If we let our dreams fade
When will they be gone?
The weak give up to stay
While the strongest move on.
I must turn a new page
Embrace this reality.
There is another way
And a better place to be.
