A Better Life
There’s no white job
There’s no black job
We seek a better life
Every day and that’s no gaffe
There’s no white hope
There’s no black hope
Hope has no color
Hope has no odor
We seek a better life
Every day like a giant giraffe
We reach for the stars
In spite of the ugly scars
There’s no white music
There’s no black music
We tend to forget history
And the true genesis of humanity
White lies
Black lies
You all know what I’m talking about
As we become nothing at the end of the bout
Reality will set in
As we settle into the special inn
We seek a better life
Let’s live, enjoy and laugh
Stop focusing on the white stuff
Which will eventually turn black in the mouth
And that’s no bluff.
