A Bee's Day
Yellow flower, pretty thing,
Let me taste your nectar’s Spring.
With honeysuckle breath I’ll fly,
Low in grass where clover lie.
I guess by now, you know my scheme,
Busy worker for our queen.
How much sweet stuff can I hold?
To take to hive like precious gold.
Hear my hum and you will run.
Sorry to spoil your outdoor fun.
I’m on assignment here today.
Screaming women, get out my way.
I’m not as lucky as a drone,
Safe secure within the home,
That one day I’ll evict them from,
To do the work like I have done.
Look a female. Oh, so fine!
Forget the work. It’s mating time.
