A Beckoning

I hear you, Mother. Calling me. To walk upon you with naked feet. And feel your breath caress my face, and find in you my sacred space. This ache in my heart grows ever stronger, I can't ignore your call much longer.. I feel you, Mother. Patiently awaiting my awakening. You set me free and watched me run alone into the setting Sun. And as the darkness touched your ground I lost my way and stumbled down.. I smell, sweet Mother, your heavenly scents of flowers and soil, and elements of knowledge from a long time ago, within me have begun to glow. I know you know I love you so, and that my love can only grow.. I see you, Mother. Holding out. For my return to come about. I promise you it won't be long before we once more sing our song. And when we do my heart will soar, and then our pain can be no more.. I know you, Mother. Earth is your name. And Life support, your only game. Your rivers and seas, your forests of trees, you've sacrificed so selflessly.. Like any mother worth her salt, your love transcends my every fault.. You're in me, Mother. And I in you. My spirit knows that this is true. There is no option of separation, you've borne my every generation.. And in your beauty, wisdom and grace, you beckon me back to your tight embrace. This Love, Great Mother, divine and true, is what will bring me Home to you..

Hi Sarah, I really like this poem and it's sentiment. We are all born of this earth. Lovely poem.

Hi, Stephen. Thank you so much. Sorry I've only just seen this, I've not been on here since November I think.. You might appreciate one (or maybe both) of the new ones I've just posted, which happens to be about a woman who is born of the Earth and her connection to, and experience on it, and has a similar sentiment. Though while this one has only subtle elements of sadness, the second half of the new one is not an easy read.. Anyway, thanks for reading, and for your lovely comment, I appreciate it. :)
