Notes About The Poem

A Beautiful Star

Shimmering high above the earth Blinking hope and anticipation Brilliant light – oh, heavenly star… Preparing hearts for His presence The One who would bring down to us Joy, peace and love – all the glory Of the Christmas spirit! Glistening in the cool, dark night Far brighter than any other This beautiful star shown on the One Who came to bring us true love Love that would soon reveal to us The wonder of grace and faith The miracle of everlasting calm A silence that arose on the world When the Lord Jesus was born! Twinkling happily, revealing the plan That the Lord of heaven began To save us all from this sin we have Give us a new life, a new heart A new hope – hope that would assure That love would reach down into our souls And remind us of the wonderous birth That gave us the greatest gift of all… The possibility of eternal life – forever With the Savior of this world! 2022 Poetry Marathon Mile 18 Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Mark Toney Entered October 27, 2022
