You And Me
The old music rumbles in the street
While the animals graze on the barren hill
The dust is swirling in the air
and the dogs are running to and fro
looking for a safe place to go but the donkeys
stood still grazing on the barren hill
The wicked gust of the west, almost
choke me to death, it kept spinning around
looking for a place to rest but the good witch of the
south force it back to where it comes from
and I could finally land on the dry ground
Come with me to the middle of the sea
and let me show you what I see
Come with me in a motor boat
and survey the shore and discover
what is hanging behind the door
Listen carefully to the sonic boom
and watch the wave rise at noon
The cover is on the boat remove
it before you start to float
Drift with me to the other end of the sea
And keep my company
I wake up this morning with a tender heart
And suddenly emerge from the dark
and the benevolent sky above my head broke loose
And fill the earth with showers of love
The earth opens its thirsty gut and fill
the universe with love and blessing from above
The streets are lined with singing patrons
singing melodious folk songs
I watch you walk out of the crowd
to show me what life is about
Will you put your arms around me
and dance with me,
Will you walk with me across the floor
and let me look at you once more
Stretch your arms towards the crowd
and absorb the energy before
you walk through the door
The forces are strong
but you have the upper hand
If I stumble would hold me up
And if my feet are tired
Would you lead me along?
Let me hold your hand
for you and me
are going to compose
a brand new song
And everyone will sing along
Just you and me,
gazing at the clear blue sea
