: Lover's Embrace : - For Romantic Valentine Contest -

Warming cheeks with kisses so sweet,
it's such a treat, keeps my heart on the beat,

Surprises lurk in the bed with sweet nothings toasted on bread,
Words once left un-said are now written in red,
Cupid arrows as decorations instead,

Meeting a mystery man on the docks by the pond, so romantic, how could it have taken this long?
Professing his love with a song, Oh nothing now could go wrong!

Open arms which embrace after winning the chase is like angels in love who are keeping the pace,
Valentine's Day must be here, inside I'm giddy with cheer,

Wrote all love cards once or twice, feelings reciprocated is like rolling the dice,
Locking eyes as we meet, a chocolate given as treat, bringing back such a youth tied up in memories aloof ,

Dancing, singing, ear -to- ear grinning,
How did he know he was winning?

Thump thump goes my heart, I'm longing we won't ever be apart,
He's buried in the root of my heart,

February brings such interesting twists, with only 28-days the calendar mustn't be a-miss!
On the 14th, a kiss; chocolate covered in wrapping so crisp,
need not voluntarily part your lips for the taste is delish!

Blooming petals make roses a gift, petals draped 'round the presents, take a whiff!
Wind blowing across the steam of our tea, biscuits left on this romantic morning.
Singing songs, wiping tears, brushing away lover's fears, Valentine's Day - one of our very best years.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
