America the Free ~ America the Brave ~
                           Freedom with price Capitalism attacked
the many taken hearts broken still
                              one World try to rebuild
sadness and tears fall hard with fears
guilt by association many accused still
                             souls evaporated shattered dreams
tears fall on innocence left with anger
The proud fearless knew the inevitable
                              policeman fireman many lives lost
grieving does not stop 12 years later
New York city once proud & shameless
refusing to let fears in protecting ours
left in shock still question's unanswered
                               nothing learned nothing gained
ready to attack many left behind
anger greets denial anger meets rage
                               unacceptable still refusing new love
wanting days to rewind let us go back in time
acceptance allowing the victims leave in peace
the brave taken young leaving us sadly old
                               haunting dreams lost spirits dwell
no answers to hate never forgetting that day
                               Evil entered suddenly unforgiving fate
entering our City we stand with the fallen
How to fix how do we Change

This can be read many different ways ~ This is a poem I am so proud to write ~

This poem is amazing in its format , it says so many things differently " Refusing new love " this is history and should be noted.

I wanted to make it for the readers perception , but I wrote it differently and then..opps , lost my baby ! so I rewrote it , and like how it was reading backwards , in line , all over ..the design being the falling towers ~ Thank-you My sweet friend ..I may let it stand for the month .

Brilliant, visually and emotionally. Three poems in one. So many ways this can be read. I read both towers together in reverse an I was surprised how well it read.

Wonderful poem Yvette. Very poignant! The lines look like a furrowing flag to me which would be appropriate I think. Warm thoughts, Ralph

I must comment to my self !! Reading this a month later , when submitting a poem , sometimes words fall to the very side ..and it may be because the poem is long , so when posted ..I finally got it this way , the original format.
