mini coconut cake ~ what would a couple do with more?
snickers latte - caramel and chocolate syrup laced
mini wooden box - “LOVE YOUR GRUMPY…”
I turn the old crank. plays: You are my sunshine…
pronouncement on paper. card’s itinerary:
wine tasting…Sister Act musical…and dinner
with my sisters at Tapas Bar
a gazillion, by golly, Facebook wishes
an AI poem (of course) by my Sis
opened my husband’s heart before midnight
why should we wait…he was out of the gate
first wish on birth day day, my son in law
second wish by his wife, no, c’mon that’s too neat
he asked her, “Do you know what today is?
so she’s groggy and matter of factly answers,
“Of course, my mother’s birthday…”
the double team lyrics of sis and brother in law
my dad, oh my dad, my heart… he picks up the phone
once a year to call…how sweet he is.
texts, messages, more phone calls
husband’s precious happy birthday wake up
two lips, two hearts of gratitude
one granddaughter, one grandson
more to come? waiting on the eldest, youngest
and two in-between. why am I so excited?
daughters, waiting on son - should I place them all
before coconut cake. No particular order to this list!
a special friend, I’ve known since I was 2. He’ll be
sixty-*$@ in a few days…falalalala..yeah, like me!
a cousin, brother oh yes brother, who’d I forget…
perhaps you? or are you just passing through ;)
It’s like turning 21. I’m still a baby, according to the registry
of my elders. Perhaps when I’m 99, I might claim a title,
but likely the old gal that’s 101 will tap me on the shoulder.
See life gets better and better, unexpected, expecting blessings,
