27 Forever
This little girl blue life did take a toll
Oh Janis, first lady of rock’n’roll
Your ol’ kozmic blues are good for the soul
A piece of our hearts you did sever
Jim opened the door to the other side
Eternally now, your storm to ride
He told us the day does night divide
A true poet so strange and clever
Brian Jones rhythm love and livelihood
Sought shelter in a 10,000 acre wood
Gave the stones a name no one else could
Start anew in afterlife endeavor
An experience electric, not a passing craze
The best there was in past and future days
Jimi left behind this earth in purple haze
A legacy more iconic there was never
All apologies to Kurt for such unwanted fame
Father of grunge may wish we never knew his name
He told us never mind, but never was the same
Nothing left in the way, 27 forever.
