100 Years From Now
You are thinking "What would it be like 100 years from now?"
'Will my family still love me and remember me or even care?'
As I look back to things that have come and gone
have I done things strong enough that will carry on?
'Will my husband remember our love we shared
and our laughs threw out the years?'
Who cares because at 100 years from now we would have
both died and gone on.
My dogs are my pride and joy
they have given us so many years of loyalty and love
but for sure in 100 years they will have died and gone on.
My sisters and brothers with years of play time and some days of fear
I hope I'm the first to go so I don't have to shed any tears
for in 100 years we will all have died and gone on.
My children have grown to be strong and I'm proud of each and everyone
trying to make a life with love and embrace
but in 100 years they will have died and gone on.
My grandchildren waiting to be born
so many things in life to come and enjoy
but in 100 years will have died and gone on.
The presidents of past and now
the movie stars we love and dread
in 100 years will have died and gone on.
The rich and famous who think they have it all
the poor who wished and saw
in 100 years will have died and gone.
Your neighbor, your mailman or just a passerby
whether it be a child, woman or man
in 100 years has died and gone on.
The total population for the world is 7 billion and climbing
but in 100 years 7 billion will have died and gone on.
So what is this title all about?
Love every minute of everyday
don't worry about what you have saved, the games you have played,
the life you have lived or the pictures you hope everyone will look at one day
for 100 years from now you will be dead and gone.
As you go to work, take a stroll in the park,
have loved ones over so you can brag or boast and try to leave a mark
life is but a spark
it's flame burns hot
but 100 years from now nobody cares about your birth mark.
