-winds of Chance-

Blown back to life by the winds of chance
Sent here again, other lives to enhance.
Captain once more of my own ship,
Finally, on life, I have a firm grip.

Advice given in times gone by,
Never was in short supply.
Crashing like waves onto the shore
When needed, there was always more.

Once lost in the sea of existence,
Went away to keep my distance.
Now, like a true sailor I have returned to my boat
My sole purpose, to help others stay afloat.

This time I need to stay on course
No more will I have any remorse.
Give others the benefit of my guidance
Thank God for the winds of chance.

IN LIFE, HOPE PROMISES US CHANCES TO REDEEM OURSELVES. I have done so many times. Your poems speaks to hope and a better life when one finds the right path again. Beautiful poem! A7 Adding to my fav list as the truth and dedication in this poem rings out loud to me.

Thank you again, Linda. I would honestly appreciate some constructive criticism. I have been writing from the time I was a teenager. I have always written my thoughts instead of speaking them out. I have over 300 poems but I have not written anything of substance in over six years. Some of my poems are based on my life experiences. Since joining Poetry soup a few days ago I have already been exposed to different forms of poetry and I am already encouraged to start trying some. Thank you for the warm welcome. I am sure I would enjoy it here and I'll definitely read more of your work... Jenni
