Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller, more commonly known as Friedrich Schiller, was a German poet, philosopher, historian, and playwright. Born on November 10, 1759, in Marbach, Germany, Schiller is best known for his dramatic works, including "The Robbers," "Don Carlos," and "William Tell." He was a key figure in the Weimar Classicism movement and is celebrated for his influential writings on aesthetics and the philosophy of history. Schiller's literary contributions had a significant impact on German literature and he continues to be revered as one of the most important figures in the history of German culture.
