I’ve been thinking about the use of using numbers in poems for a long time & have started doing this in some recent open form poems. When writing the number in a poem instead of the number in letter form, it gives a more vibrant & powerful feel to a poem, depending how integrated one’s left and right brain is.
Numbers and letters have for too long been separated in their use, as they are used in separate disciplines & to depict different aspects of human life. They are also identified with different parts of the brain. This separation of use of the two entrenches how we interpret information, though when we perceive instantly the brain perceives as a whole before it separates out information in bit form.
My own perspective is that numbers have mostly been identified with masculinity in its broad sense, whilst letters, with femininity, in its broad interpretation. When we combine the actual number in writing it increases the frequency resonance of the poem as well as balancing underlying masculinity & femininity in a poem’s tone. This, itself brings balance to the brain, exercising different parts of it when reading. It also speeds up assimilation processing of poem.
My view is that this is desirable for some topics that poems examine as our Planet itself raises its frequency.
This form could make a poem less artistic if overused, but if used subtly it enhances texture of a poem.
Numerology also depicts very specific metaphysical meaning to number. This is largely processed in the subconscious, unconscious or superconscious. These meanings can then be absorbed by a reader without detracting from a more superficial perspective of a poem.
Such a form would be suitable for poems dealing with development of consciousness from third dimension into 5th dimension where whole brain becomes fully functionable & divide between left and right brain nebulous.
Any thoughts on this ?
