A triplet is a stanza of three lines, often with a single rhyme sound repeated in all three lines. Poets may use triplets as a brief, self-contained unit or as part of a longer poem made up of three-line stanzas. The term can also describe any three-line group in a poem, but the stanza sense is the most common.
