Mock-heroic verse is satire that treats a small or silly subject in the grand style normally reserved for epic heroes and serious battles. By using elevated language, formal comparisons, and heroic conventions for a petty event, the poet makes the subject look absurd and exposes vanity, pride, or foolishness.
