Bacchic
Bacchic describes a metrical foot made up of three syllables: one short followed by two long syllables. It is a classical quantitative pattern, so it is based on vowel length rather than stress. In English poetry, the term is rare and usually appears in discussions of Greek and Latin verse or of poems that imitate classical meter.
