Self-Published Authur

by

My name is Theresa Ann Casten. I am a newly self-published author. I was born in Syracuse, NY and grew up in New Mexico and New York. My parents served in the United States Air Force for most of my childhood. I attended Hilbert College, NY and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology. I currently reside in Tennessee.

Ever since I was a child I loved to read. I would mostly read mystery books until I came across the works of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Edgar Allen Poe and Emily Dickinson. They have truly been an inspiration to me and my work.

My first book, Thoughts in Process: The Lost Art: A Book of Poetry (First Thoughts) (Volume 1) was published on January 30, 2014. It is a first in a series of collections of modern poetry. It covers topics from being single, moving on, following one's dreams and personal subject matters relating to losing touch with loved ones.

My book Thoughts in Process: The Lost Art: A Book of Poetry (Volume One) is a foundation into a career I am pursuing. I have let life get in the way of my dreams and I no longer allowing that to happen. I am very excited to begin on this journey.

My second book, Thoughts in Process: The Lost Art of Poetry (Second Thoughts) (Volume 2) is expected to be released in April of 2014. It will cover topics from feelings of abandonment in times of need, over coming obstacles, moving on and remembering what it was like to be a child.

Augury, a short story, is expected to be released in the summer of 2014.

Tessa Walters is facing uncertainty in her life and her decision to marry a man who treats her with disrespect and thoughtlessness. Her disconnection with family members and herself leads her into a world created by fear and low self-esteem where she is just going through the motions. The death of her Grandmother does no good in strengthening her esteem or relationship with her fiance. Tessa is sinking deeper and deeper into a life of depression. In a time where she feels abandoned and alone, she starts experiencing ominous dreams and strange occurrences in her life. Are these messages from the beyond and if so will they reach Tessa in time before she meets the same fate as her mother?”
