A Poet's Obsession

by Marilyn Williams

A Poet's Obession is about writing works that will inspire a reader's thoughts on what the writer wants them to get out of the article. Some lines may contain comedy, while other lines may bring tears or anger. It is most important to the writer as well as the reader that they get it.That is, what is being read. Otherwise, why bother?  Sometimes the writter wants to express something important or just get his thoughts off his mind, onto paper

At any rate, he writes to be understood. A funny thing could happen and the article could turn into a classic or could be so misunderstood, that it winds up in the trash. That would be a tragedy for the poet.

In poetry writing, however, it tells a story of worth. Something the writer desperately wants you, the reader to know.  Mostly, he or she is obessed with pleasing its reader. So, the next time you read someone's writings put yourself in a place of being pleased and comforted. Two things will happen. It will give the writer peace of mind and he will feel a sense of accomplishment, and you, the reader would have discovered the next Shakespear.
