Wildmoor Heath Boardwalk Crossing

SLOW MOVEMENT

Move out from tall trees - to wider scene now
Tympanic rhythm - andante theme
As footsteps beat on - path of the Ash beam
In diverse prospect - wet levels gleam
Look to the surface - life is reflected
Now mirrors brightening - skies cerulean

See over there the - new view surveyed now
Past tawny grasses - strewn by wind laid 
Birch saplings dapple - hazel and apple
Amber the dry fern - dashed now with jade
Where silver stems - surround sun-bright vale there
Small stream descends in - glistening cascade

Over above In - slow closing distance
Land rises to - overlook languid fen
Our destination -  draws our steps on to 
Reach barrow slopes - fields of wider ken

So measured pace continues ‘til then
While spirit moves to hilltop ascend

Greg: I really enjoyed reading this one. I love boardwalks over marshes - our souls do get into a rythm with our footsteps.....our nomadic spirits so to speak. The aboriginals tracked their journeys in songlines. Music of the spheres and such. Sending good wishes. SuZ

Really exquisite poetry. Our goal that of the transformation of ourselves and our earth to a kingdom of light. During our evolution too often reason is obscured by the canopy of our dense nature, so shaded it becomes difficult to see a lighted path richly blessed with graces. Your writing and sense gives me hope. Love it!

This is quite brilliant Geoffrey. I don't pretend to know classical music too well but your poem encouraged me to dig deeper. Beethoven, by all accounts, described his 7th as his"most excellent symphony." Well, yours is a 'most excellent' piece. You have obviously put your heart and soul into this and it makes for great reading. I'm a year in to Poetry Soup and feel I have only scratched the surface. I've dug deeper and found poets like yourself who deserve so much more attention. Brilliant!
