Well done, Janice. Very good description. There are no cardinals where I live, but I did see one many years ago while visiting family in West Virginia, and I have always remembered that moment. They are indeed beautiful birds. Take care. Jim

Your great poem reminds me of when I was in Pittsburgh (I'm from Los Angeles) and I saw my first (and only) cardinal (a male one) on a bench on my friend's patio just outside her kitchen window. Very impressive (poem and bird).
