The Lantern of Light
its wick will absorb oil within
Bringing fire into the soul
Lighting the eyes to see
While it warms the heart and soul
Night will become day with light
Casting upon the parchment
As ink will flow through the night
Rhymes will seem effortless
While verses are unexpected
A poem written so all can see
Posted among many in this decree
These matchless words not known
Only to the one who wrote them
Sending messages of hope
Teasing the mind with scope
Write not into dark but into light
Showing to all so they will see
What poetry means to thee
