She Wanted To Rest In Peace

She wanted a husband and a married life
She wanted a child and to forever be a wife
She wanted to be happy and smile
Instead of go through this trial
She felt hurt and alone
As she struggled to find in him her home

Pushed down on the floor with a hand on her neck
Beating the anger into her head
With a fist
She layed there and didn't resist
She felt the punches to her head that pained
And her hurt face that wore a red stain

She felt the familiar pain arrive
As past memories of separation became alive
Pain rushed through her heart as she strived
To move forward and survive
Her broken heart
And her soul that fell apart

All she wanted now was to pray to go
To  her granmothers new home
She had patience but it was not good enough
And everytime she went through a separation it was tough
Cry it out, let the river flow
Allah sees everything and knows

She did not drink, drug, cheat or abuse
Yet she got tossed as though she was refuse
Now all she wanted was to go to her gran on the other side
Where there are no emotional rollercoaster rides
All she wanted was to be released
All she wanted was to rest in peace
