Scenes From An Unreal City
Metropolis filled with
many ethnic groups
Some living peacefully
with each other
Others ready to do battle
I pick up my pen
in the hope my words
can bring
some
comfort
to the citizens of
this town
Life rumbles on - above and
below the ground in Gotham
Millions walk the streets
and ride subways
and buses
Streetlamps light up the
faces of young people
who rush into
each other's arms
at night
Unreal city!
Grant me joy and peace!
Let the words
dance ahead of us
As we move into autumn air
in this city
filled with the hopes and dreams
of so, so many
