My Prayer

What will it take for you too see?
What will it take for you to answer me?
I walked in the glade
Tall grass waving so melancholy
Musical notes I plucked from every blade
Eolus conducts the orchestra

Teaching my children diction
Adhere the pitch, gentle as we go
Discipline and dynamics
Do not drag , do not rush the note
And then they were ready

Plucking and stroking
Ascending and descending
Philharmonically I closed my eyes
I raised my arms enraptured

The call went out to every mortal
Everything that has breath
Roots and rocks vibrate the atoms
My gentlest persuasion could not move you
What will it take - talk to me
All these years and all my imploring
You remain deaf to me
Am I not a participant... not Holy?

Not in sadness of contrition
Nor in joy of butterflies

The call of a moose
The majesty of an elephant
Etched against the golden African sky
The power of a rhino
Eagle circling on the thermals
The cunning of the jackall
Nor the cruelty of the hyena

My calls come in threes
Beyond these walls
Gliding and meandering
Into fissures and crannies
Into gutters and sewers
And into eddies and streams
Accellerate into rapids
Come crashing over waterfalls
Down a mighty river
Untill it became my hand
A delta with seperate fingers
Finally I gave you back to the sea

There I sit in the sundown
Hoping still..saying goodbye

The parts where you could not read
Is where salty drops smudged the ink
Blotting out your name - I think

Powerful and sad at the same time. Using the landscape as metaphor to describe the immensity of feeling makes it more relatable.

The frustration and want is palatable as it mixes with angst and stirs one into its power. Well done, my friend - 7 and a WOW for this girl. It was a rough, powerful ride delivered with a sentimental and soft pen. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
