Mirror, Mirror On the Wall

There's the mirror we look at
    to pick at spots,
The mirror we dress by,
    to see the lot,
The one to cream and
    shade the eyes,
The one to try out
    feigned surprise,
The one that travels
    and shows fatigue,
(Your eyes have circles,
    your teeth are green.)
But the truest vision
    of ups and downs,
Of sideways bulges
    and hairdo clowns
Is the one that hits you
    with dismay,
The shop front window
    on a sunny day!

A mirror of a poem that shows the naked truth. Let me rush to the nearest shop front window to look at the true me!

Great idea, Madathil! Only be careful about the naked part or you may get more feedback than you were looking for! Elizabeth

I don't like the mirror that hits me with dismay. I mean who does, but its an honest reality. I would venture to say that self-perception is key. I do like the shop front window though.

That's right, Miranda. Maybe choose a cloudy forecast or wear a hat. Some comedian said, I think, wear a hat so I'll know ya. Elizabeth

a wonderful piece. short to the point. artistic. Usable if I needed it. But most of all thinkable while reading. Good work.
