Fair is the flower,
her petals worn and bare
love had left her waiting
life had been unfair.

She waited in the scorching sun,
the rain would drench her so
yet she held out hope
to never let love go.

She began to give and bend,
her branches getting old
but the warmth revived her heart
that started to turn cold.

As her petals flourished,
her mind could not prepare
for the love she found there waiting
was beautiful and rare.
