Isolation

Hey! Is that the sound of a drop of water?
Creating an almost silent patter
My broken heart, that I always offered on a platter,
Says, I've stopped long back, so it really doesn't matter

Yes, your senses are working and you are a living being
But what's this life, devoid of any meaning
Saying this, my brain laughs, hiding a tear
The silence haunts me, and I see that nobody is near

My eyes see clearly, every sight
But can't discern the difference between day and night
I can't understand if I have friends or foes around
Am I anchored, or have I run aground?

I think I should learn keep my mouth shut
Swallow every feeling and not reveal much
Else it would be darkness that I would always be getting
Even death then, would seem like a blessing

So here I am on my knees, begging forgiveness
Bound and humiliated, hiding my nakedness
Kick me aside and walk with your head held high
This doormat will not even sigh

Sometimes life can strike so hard, that you feel sort of limp, and numb to the next possible attack. Deeply expressed, well penned piece!
