I am yellow-green! Peridot the color of self-esteem
Protective against life’s rife that may stream 
I come from the earth’s rich interiors ore, 
xenolith layers that make up its inner core
Purifying positive spiritual energy and well-being
Channeling love  to  intrusive shadows unseen
When sunrays shimmer thru shade tree leaves,
you’ll see me glinting behind the summer breeze
Dewy meadows in warm August blankets at sunrise
I am your luxuriant gift, and you are the prize

Gorgeous. Peridot, the color for August and your poem poetically burst with its attributes, every line a joy to read. Don't know if Andrea's concluded placements or not, but surely this is a winner. By the time I chose a color, it was over. Love this ... CayCay

I have worn same Opal on right hand since 20, but opals sparkle so many colors that I decided to write about coral. I am blessed to have been validated as a writer after decades of hiding my passion due to lack of confidence, but NOT EVERY contest, don't even enter EVERYone. You are no slouch pen yourself. Thanks CayCay, I've seen you place in every contest, you are an amazing poetess, I say you should choose a color, I'm curiously intrigued in what yours would be, being that you are into the cosmos and read charts, I heard somewhere that the color peach protects! Ty CayCay.

I'm an August baby too. Never cared much for the color peridot though. Wonder if I could switch out for ruby. Anyway, nicely written.

There are 3 birthstones for August. _Peridot _Sardonyx _Spinel. Peridot is most known. Perhaps the sardonyx (hot pink) is more you lol. :) I jotted down the spiritual meaning of the stone's color.
