Flight

A gallowed dawn
Where hope was hung
A siren wails
A gatling gun
A spinaker sails to fetch her son
Broken film from a movie screen
Saves my ass but burns my queen
Love found me unworthy
Poverty bought me some sin
Honour caught me hiding in a bin
So I flee to your embrace
Your eyes your face-where
There is a river there

I sense an air of quiet desperation contained in these words. Well done.

A river of no return? My mind was all over the place trying to understand your message in this one Jannie. I want to know more about it as I felt drawn in. : )

I tried to portray the river as a place of safety and something deep like enlightenmênt and understanding. Mysteriousness is the whole point. I hope you liked it. Thanks for looking in
