Escape

A cup of coffee by my side as into the book I went.
I feel myself start to unwind, an afternoon well spent.

Off to another realm I go ,
as I turn the pages, precise and slow.
I sip  the coffee and run away
to another place, another day.

To read a book is such a gift
whenever your soul may need a lift .
A good book takes me far away 
and helps me escape the mundane day.

Trying to read ALL your poems in a day is like having a box of chocolates all to myself. Some have soft centers and some are harder and some have a funny little nut hidden inside. Escape is among my favorites so far Francine. So well written and so perfectly true.
