Doth Smileth Down On Me

In my hand a tiny seed I plant beneath the soil
Full of promise and of joy for me with very little toil

Such joy for me to see when her first leaf appears
My eyes are overflowing with so many joyous tears

One morn I spy a bud just like it fell from up above
A promise sent for me to see the flower that I love

It brings to me the biggest smile to think this tiny seed
Is now a 6 foot sunflower oh such great joy indeed

And each and every morn ‘tis the first thing that I see
My tall ~ my yellow sunflower doth smileth down on me
